As Christmas season begins there’s lots of events happening in and around the lake District to celebrate. Below are some of our top picks and must see events this month.
Keswick Live Advent

Each Year, Keswick celebrates the coming of Christmas with it own unique advent calendar. A collection of different shops and local business take it in turn to switch on their Christmas light display and hold a mini Christmas event if they wish.

Petzl Night Runners
Date: 10 Dec Time: 17:00 Where: Grizedale Victors Centre
The second night trail running race of the Petzl series takes place at Grizedale Forest. The start and finish venue is based at Grizedale Visitors Centre, in the Lake District, which is an ideal venue for families and supporters, as well as runners. As with all our night runner races, fancy dress is actively encouraged and the theme for Grizedale is "Christmas Festivities".
JA Windermere German Christmas Markets

Windermere is hosting a brand new German Christmas Market on 10th & 11th December, there will be a wide range of festive stalls selling fantastic seasonal gifts from knitwear to soaps. There will be delicious food & drinks offerings available all day. There will be live music & on street entertainment. We have asked Santa to come and visit this weekend and he has his very own grotto & reindeers!

A Festival of Christmas Music

Santa Grotto and Christmas Light Switch On

Come watch KONG Adventure turn their Christmas lights on as part of Keswick Live Advent and while you’re there why not visit Santa in his Grotto. The entry fee also includes entry into KONG’s Hard Play Area and with Christmas refreshment on sale in the café as well, it’s a perfect place to let the kids expend some of their pre-Christmas energy.
